Barcelona hosts a diverse range of FSIs, driven by social entrepreneurship, community engagement, and innovative business models. These initiatives are deeply embedded in the city's social and solidarity economy, supported by favorable legislation and collaboration with public institutions. FSIs contribute significantly to social sustainability by improving food security, inclusivity, and community building. They also promote environmental sustainability by reducing food waste and enhancing urban biodiversity. (Less)
