Avatar Appearance in Computer Supported Learning

Labbe, Daniel ; Haake, Magnus LU and Gulz, Agneta LU (2009)
Abstract
In a pilot study, young people were to choose an avatar for use in an educational application. The avatars came in two different visual styles – a “naturalistic” versus. a “stylized” version. The result is discussed in a pedagogical context with respect to similarity in appearance between student and avatar.
